THE BEST DAY!

This is easily my favorite day of the year. Being that the first day of the NCAA tournament falls on St. Pat’s puts it on a BEYOND level. So without retracing some of the great first rounds and St.Pat’s days of the past which would be like a combination of a Jeff Bridges/Christopher Walken late 70’s early 80’s series of flashbacks here are my thoughts on the tournament.

In my eyes there is no clear best team or favorite to win it.
Yes, Ohio State is the top seed in the tournament but they just don’t blow me away as a great basketball team that will march to the title. And before you ask “what don’t you like?” I don’t know, I just can’t put my finger on it. They are well coached and very talented, maybe it is because they have UNC, Syracuse and Kentucky all in their bracket.

With the Big East tournament being so exciting last week my hope is that those teams represent themselves and the conference and play deep into the tournament. Obviously people are very hot and cold about UCONN as some think the five games in five days will have them running on empty while others think they will be just fine.

I like the Huskies to go the Elite 8, as Kemba Walker is becoming an NYC cult hero.

Here we go:

Upset specials:
Michigan State, Oakland, Missouri Richmond and Belmont.

Sweet 16:
OSU, West Virginia, Syracuse, UNC
Duke, Zona, UCONN, SD ST
Kansas Louisville Georgetown ND
PITT, Kansas St, BYU Florida

Final Four
KANSAS
PITT
DUKE
SYRACUSE

Kansas over Duke for the title.

Lots of games in first round I just have no feel for.

Look for St’ John’s Gonzaga, Butler ODU and Michigan Tennessee to be terrific games.

IT IS HERE LETS GO!
